I don’t expect to be cooking with either cabbage or chestnuts this week, but I couldn’t ignore their beauty - and perfect seasonality - when I saw both being offered in the Union Square Greenmarket today.

These purple cabbage were in the stall of Tamarack Hollow Farm.
